I have suffered for almost a year now with the issue of the arrow keys not working in the OneDrive etc, which is very frustrating as it makes it impossible to scroll through photos, etc.  However, I have just been looking at this again for the first time in a while and have worked out how we can scroll up/down from the laptop's keypad:-

On your laptop, go into Settings / Bluetooth & Devices / Touchpad (which should be switched on)  / Scroll & Zoom,

Check what the instruction is for your touchpad in terms of what it interprets for scrolling - mine states:-

- Drag 2 fingers to scroll

- Downward motion scrolls up (under Scrolling Direction)

- Pinch to zoom.

I've been into my OneDrive and am able to scroll up and down via my touchpad which I'm very happy with (it doesn't resolve the fact that the arrow keys should work, regardless, but at least this will help in the meantime). I did try de-selecting this gesture ie 2 fingers to scroll, hoping the arrow keys would work, but they didn't). 🙂

@Angel_Face, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Thank you for sharing your experience and the steps you’ve taken so far — it’s really helpful and could definitely assist others facing a similar issue! 😊

It’s great to hear that you’ve found a workaround using the touchpad gestures to scroll in OneDrive. That’s definitely a step in the right direction, but I completely understand how frustrating it must be that the arrow keys aren’t working as they should — they really should be functioning for navigation.

Here are a few things you could try to get the arrow keys working properly:

Check for driver updates:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates and see if there are any updates available for the keyboard or touchpad drivers.
  • Alternatively, you can visit the HP Support website and search for your laptop model (HP 15s-fq0000) to manually download the latest drivers.

Reinstall the keyboard driver:

  • Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Keyboards, right-click on your keyboard, and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop — Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.

Check keyboard settings:

  • Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard and make sure that Sticky Keys, Filter Keys, and Toggle Keys are all turned off.

Test in Safe Mode:

  • Restart your laptop in Safe Mode (hold down Shift while clicking Restart).
  • If the arrow keys work in Safe Mode, it might be a software conflict causing the issue.

Give these steps a try and let me know how it goes! If the issue persists, we can explore more options together. 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
