New HP Envy laptop. How do I retrieve saved Word documents previously created as the hard drive from a previous laptop crashed?

They would have to have  been saved in the cloud

Log into your onedrive account.  Should be the same as your microsoft account.

If was never saved in the cloud then you need to recover from the disk which may requires a special program and probably and adapter to USB

Hi,

Do you still have the old hard drive

If not available in cloud.

You could try using an USB to SATA cable

Ex

Attach to new PC and open the  old c: partition

Open the User folder

Open the folder with your name or the name you gave old PC

It can take some time to open this folder as Windows needs to first change the security settings of each file, so even a few minutes. Then you can transfer the files.

Hope it helps,

David
