I recently got a 1080p monitor (1920x1080) because my old resolution was 1366x768. When I tried to play Geometry Dash for the first time after I got the monitor, it was running at a super low framerate, even when I changed the in-game resolution to 1366x768. It was running pretty well before, but now it won't. Closing the other apps that were open helped, but it still buffers. Was this because of the monitor or something else?

Hi @Bryan12453,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The change in monitor resolution alone shouldn't significantly impact the performance of a game like Geometry Dash. However, there are a few potential reasons for the slowdown you're experiencing:
Graphics Settings: Check the graphics settings within Geometry Dash. Make sure that the resolution and other graphics settings are set to values appropriate for your system. Setting the resolution within the game may not always work as expected, so you might need to adjust these settings in the game's configuration files or use the graphics control panel of your GPU.
Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Sometimes, updating drivers can significantly improve performance. Visit the website of your GPU manufacturer (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) to download and install the latest drivers for your specific graphics card.
Power Settings: Your laptop might be operating in a power-saving mode, which could limit the performance of your GPU. Make sure your power settings are set to performance mode when you're playing games. You can adjust these settings in the Windows power options.
Background Processes: Even if you've closed other apps, some background processes might still be using system resources. Use the Task Manager to check for any unnecessary processes and close them.
System Requirements: Ensure that your system meets the minimum system requirements for Geometry Dash, especially considering the change in resolution. While Geometry Dash is not a highly demanding game, it's worth checking if your system specifications are sufficient.
Temperature Issues: Overheating can cause performance degradation. Make sure your laptop is not overheating during gameplay. You can use third-party software to monitor temperatures or check your laptop manufacturer's tools for this.
Windows 11 Compatibility: Ensure that Geometry Dash is fully compatible with Windows 11. Sometimes, new operating systems may introduce compatibility issues with older games.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
