Under my user Google Chrome operates as normal.  Under my son's user, Google Chrome used to operate as normal but now just flashes really quickly and won't open.  If I uninstall and reinstall or restart the computer it will open until I try to search or access Settings.  Then it closes and won't open again.

Google Chrome is set to the default browser so anything that tries to automatically open in Chrome, also won't open.

This just started happening this past week.  Any ideas?  Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Google Chrome, if it won't respond or (allow itself to be) reset from within Settings, can be uninstalled.

If at all possible, although apparently not "now", it would be best to have backed up the Favorites, bookmarks, and the like.

Nonetheless, if the software is not working, download a fresh copy,

https://www.google.com/chrome/

Get rid of the "bad one", and start over.

Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features

Scroll down, find, Click on the unwanted software and Uninstall

Restart the computer and log in

Install a fresh copy of the Chrome software

Not what you wanted?

The "kill and replace" solution is based on your not being able to do anything with Chrome - for example, get into Chrome Settings.

Google Chrome likely has a much better idea of what to do with Chrome when it misbehaves.
