When I launch a certain game, I always get this message:

The installed version of the Intel graphics driver has known issues. Please install the latest driver version.

Would you like to visit the following URL to download the driver? https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/80939/Graphics Intel(R) Iris(R) Plus Graphics

Installed: 26.20.100.7926

Minimum required: 30.0.101.1404

I then went to Intel and installed a new driver, 31.0.101.2115. The game still gave the same message. I then installed the Intel Driver Support Assistant and had it check my driver. It took me to a website. I have attached screenshots of what the site said.

I am confused. It says I installed the new driver, but it says the version is still the old one. Furthermore, when I go to device manager, click on Display Adapters, and get details on my graphics driver, it shows the old one. How can I fix this?

Hi @DevangD

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like there might be an issue with the installation process or the system is not recognizing the updated Intel graphics driver properly. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Manually Uninstall the Current Driver:

  • Go to "Device Manager" (you can right-click on the Start button and select it).
  • Expand the "Display adapters" section.
  • Right-click on your Intel graphics driver and select "Uninstall device."
  • Check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device" and click "Uninstall."
  • Restart your computer.

Install the Latest Intel Graphics Driver Again:

  • Visit the official Intel website: Intel Download Center
  • Download the latest graphics driver for your system.
  • Install the downloaded driver and follow the on-screen instructions.

Verify Driver Version:

  • After installation, go to "Device Manager" again.
  • Check the "Display adapters" section to ensure that the driver version is updated.
  • If it's still showing the old version, there might be an issue with the installation process.

Use Intel Driver Support Assistant:

  • Open the Intel Driver Support Assistant.
  • Run a scan to check for any outdated drivers.
  • If it detects the Intel graphics driver, follow its recommendations to update the driver.

Windows Update:

  • Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, Windows Update includes driver updates.
  • Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update" and check for updates.

Clean Install:

  • If the issue persists, you may consider performing a clean install of the graphics driver. This involves uninstalling the current driver, restarting your computer, and then installing the latest driver.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
