Hello, my name is Sophee. I purchased my HP 15.6" Touchscreen Laptop (Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30GHz / 1.50 GHz, 32GB RAM) in March of 2021 for about $1,000. I even opened a credit card at the time just so I could afford this computer. I’ve loved it from day one, and it has never been dropped or mishandled.
I know it has been some time since I purchased it, but I’ve recently been dealing with severe glitching that appears to be caused by the Intel graphics driver. When I switch to the Windows graphics driver, the glitching stops but the graphics are clearly not up to date, and my screen brightness controls stop working entirely. I can’t adjust the brightness up or down at all.
My dad, who is very tech savvy and used to build computers, has tried every possible troubleshooting step. After extensive testing, we confirmed the Intel graphics driver is causing the issue.
I really cannot afford to buy another laptop right now. I am loyal to HP and truly love this laptop, so I’m reaching out hoping you can help me fix this problem. Whether it’s a driver update, repair option, or any other solution, I would be extremely grateful for your assistance.
Thank you kindly for your time and support.
Warm regards,
Sophee

Hi, Sophee:
If your notebook only has the onboard Intel graphics adapter, the only suggestion I can offer would be to try the latest driver directly from Intel.
Intel® 7th-10th Gen Processor Graphics - Windows*
This will not work if your notebook has the Intel/Nvidia or Intel/AMD dual graphics adapters.

You're very welcome.
Sorry that the graphics driver from Intel didn't resolve the problem.
You may want to try reinstalling Windows and if the graphics adapter still glitches, then most likely it is a some kind of hardware problem with the Intel GPU.
