I have an HMDI 2.0 port on my laptop, and I want to connect it to anything, such as a Nintendo Switch and a TV. However, it won't show up as an input for my laptop. Is this possible? I also do not know if it is an input or output.

The HDMI port on your machine is an OUT port, you can connect it to a TV or a monitor but NOT your Nintendo .
