The HDMI port of my laptop HP Spectre x360 15-eb0001nl suddenly stopped working. When I connect an external monitor to it, my PC correctly detects the display, but does not output anything (anymore).

I have already tried all the following solutions:

  • check with other cables/ports/displays: everything works perfectly fine. Even if I connect the same monitor with the same cable (+ HDMI/USB-C adapter) to the USB-C port of my PC, everything works; and if I connect another working monitor to the HDMI port I have the same issue. So I am 100% sure the problem is related to the HDMI port;
  • switch between "duplicate" and "extend" display option;
  • disconnect and reconnect the monitor, from both the PC and the power supply;
  • force the "detect another display" option;
  • reboot the PC;
  • hard reset the PC;
  • uninstall and reinstall all graphics drivers (of both Intel and NVIDIA), downloading them from support.hp.com, as well as from the Intel/NVIDIA official websites. I point out also that I don't see any yellow triangle in Device Manager;
  • install any update from Windows Update;
  • update the BIOS;
  • play with the external monitor options, trying different resolutions and update frequencies.

However, nothing worked. The monitor is correctly detected but no signal is sent to it, therefore it remains all black. I don't know what to do more than what I already did. I am running Windows 11 24H2, if this is helpful somehow.

Any suggestions?

Try Using DDU to uninstall your current GPU driver in safe mode then install latest version Nvidia/AMD/Intel GPU driver from their official driver site page. Keep external monitor connected during whole process. Make sure connect is selected to HDMI in monitor OSD menu.
