Hi @MANAV012,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Which operating system are you currently running (Windows 10, Windows 11, or another)?
  • Have you tried checking virtualization support using tools like Intel Processor Identification Utility or Task Manager → Performance tab → Virtualization?
  • Are you planning to use virtualization for a specific application (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox, Hyper‑V)?

Suggested troubleshooting steps:

  1. Double‑check BIOS menus
    • Sometimes the virtualization option is under System Configuration or Advanced tabs, but wording may differ (e.g., “Intel Virtualization Technology,” “VT‑x,” or “Virtualization Extensions”).
    • If you haven’t already, try pressing F10 at startup to enter BIOS and carefully check each submenu.
  2. Confirm processor capability
    • Your Intel processor should support VT‑x, but you can verify by running the Intel Processor Identification Utility (free from Intel’s website). This ensures the CPU itself is reporting virtualization support.
  3. Check Windows settings
    • In Windows, open Task Manager → Performance tab → CPU. If it says Virtualization: Enabled, then the feature is already active even if BIOS doesn’t show the toggle.
    • If it says Disabled, then BIOS is not exposing the option.
  4. BIOS limitations
  • On some HP consumer laptops, certain BIOS versions do not expose the virtualization toggle even though the CPU supports it. In those cases, virtualization may be permanently disabled or locked by firmware.

I hope this helps.

In some cases, the virtualization setting may be hidden or disabled by default in the BIOS firmware.
