HP 15-bs234wm running slow

My laptop I got a few years ago is running WAY worse than it did at launch. I cleaned out old files, cleared my C drive and it still is running slow. I tried to benchmark it using one of the least demanding games I know, roblox. At the lowest settings it got around 5-7 fps. Can anyone help me fix it?

A really SLOW PC is almost always due to a failing drive.

If your PC is new enough to support UEFI, you can use these steps to test the hard drive: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024

If not, to check the drive you have to follow these steps:
1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over.
2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu
3) Press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run.

I ran it by hitting esc repeatedly and did the hard drive short dst test and it failed the failure id is m4u1aw-8jta5g-mfpx6k-60t703
