I have two HP-15 laptops each with windows 11, identical hardware and NEW batteries. My wife's laptop is smart charging with no effort. The little heart is on the charging symbol. My laptop will not enter smart charging and I cannot find a single piece of info on how to troubleshoot or correct. Does anyone have an idea? Laptops are functioning flawlessly otherwise.

The lack of information on this is surprising. Is it that new? Even weirder is my computer HAD smart charging working at one recent point. I never turned anything on. It just appeared and I had to look up what the heart symbol was all about. Now after either rebooting or using the battery, it's back to 100% charge and I can't find any way to enable smart charging again.

Hi Elohi.
Do you know how I can turn smart charging back on for my HP 840 G7 laptop? I can't find it in the power settings. It was on once without me doing anything. Now I can't find any setting to re-activate it.
thanks much.

I was not able to find an 'on/off' switch. I discovered that the smart charging turns on and off automatically. What exactly triggers it to start is unknown to me or can find in the web. I have two HP laptops and it works the same on both. On sometimes; off sometimes! I have accepted it and moved on!
