Hi @JRJakkals-ZA, Welcome to HP Support Community!

It appears your HP 250 G6 Notebook PC is experiencing a black screen issue after a BIOS update to version F.77, which often indicates a corrupted BIOS flash. This can be a critical error, but HP laptops typically have emergency recovery methods built in.
Here is the recommended procedure to resolve the problem:

Method 1: Use the HP BIOS Emergency Recovery Function (HP Sure Start)
HP notebooks have a built-in recovery mechanism that can restore the BIOS from a hidden partition or an external USB drive.
  1. Perform a Hard Reset:
    • Turn off the notebook.
    • Disconnect all external devices, including the power adapter.
    • Remove the battery from the notebook.
    • Press and hold the Power button for about 15-20 seconds to drain any residual power.
    • Insert the battery and plug the power adapter back in (do not turn it on yet).
  2. Initiate BIOS Recovery via Key Combination:
    • Press and hold the Windows key and the B key simultaneously.
    • While holding those keys, press and hold the Power button for about 2 to 3 seconds, then release the Power button (keep holding the Win + B keys).
    • Release the Windows and B keys when the HP logo appears or you hear a series of beeps.
    • The screen might remain black for a short while, but the system should start reading the BIOS recovery data and prompt you when recovery is complete. The system will then automatically restart.

Method 2: Create and Use a BIOS Recovery USB Drive
If the built-in recovery partition is also corrupted or Method 1 fails, you will need access to another computer and a USB drive to create a bootable recovery image.
  1. On a different computer, go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page for the HP 250 G6 Notebook PC .
  2. Download the original F.77 BIOS update file.
  3. Run the downloaded BIOS update file on the working computer.
  4. When the installation wizard runs, select the option to "Create Recovery USB flash drive" instead of updating the current PC's BIOS. Follow the prompts to create the recovery USB.
  5. Insert the recovery USB into the problematic HP 250 G6 laptop.
  6. Repeat the hard reset procedure from Method 1.
  7. Initiate the BIOS recovery sequence again (holding Windows + B, then briefly press the Power button). The notebook should automatically detect the BIOS file on the USB drive and begin the recovery process.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
