HP ENVY x360 - 15-bq181no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I run w10 Home latest version. When trying to install HP ASS v9 it sayst incompatible with my operating system.

 

Pls advice

HP Support Assistant

 

There are still two types of the HP Support Assistant around.

HP Support Assistant > Versions 8.x > Software

HP Support Assistant > Versions 9.x and newer > Application

 

Both types, software program and application, serve the same purpose.

9.x is dressed up in a newer format -- "new clothes" for newer hardware.

 

It's certainly possible that the newer HP Support Assistant is not compatible with your computer.

 

Your hardware came with the older 8.x version of the HPSA.

 

Some of the older systems are only compatible with the older HPSA software type.

 

What about driver updates?

 

Most of the drivers for this system are dated 2017-2018, there are a smattering of drivers a bit newer than that, and one BIOS update for 2022.

 

You do not need the HPSA to manage your drivers -- the system is old enough that, if there is a surprise update, you can download and install it manually.

 

Should you decide to keep the HPSA installed on the system, shut off the Automatic updates feature.
