after updating hp command center. I noticed that HP command center does not respond. and very rarely when it does there are no options to switch performance profiles. its been stuck on quiet profile and i am unable to get desired performance.

The issue with HP Command Center not responding or failing to provide performance profiles after an update could stem from software conflicts, outdated drivers, or improper installation. Here's how you can troubleshoot and resolve this problem.

 

Update HP Command Center

  1. Check for Updates:
    • Open Microsoft Store and check for updates for HP Command Center.
    • If updates are available, download and install them.

Uninstall and Reinstall HP Command Center

  1. Uninstall the Current Version:
    • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
    • Go to Apps > Apps & Features.
    • Find HP Command Center, click Uninstall, and confirm.
  2. Reinstall the Application:
    • Go to the Microsoft Store or HP Support website.
    • Search for and install HP Command Center.

Update BIOS and Drivers

  1. Visit the HP Support website and download:
    • The latest BIOS update for your Spectre x360.
    • The latest drivers, especially chipset and thermal management drivers.
  2. Install the updates, following the on-screen instructions.

Reset HP Command Center Settings

Sometimes, resetting the application can resolve profile-related issues:

  1. Open the Windows Settings (Press Windows + I).
  2. Navigate to Apps > Installed Apps.
  3. Search for HP Command Center, select Advanced Options.
  4. Click Reset.

Check HP Command Center Service

Ensure that the HP Command Center background service is running:

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  2. Look for HP Command Center Service in the list.
  3. If it’s not running:
    • Right-click it and select Start.
    • Set the Startup Type to Automatic.

Check for Windows Updates

Perform a Clean Boot

Conflicting startup programs might be causing issues:

  1. Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter.
  2. Under the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services.
  3. Click Disable all and restart your laptop.

Thank you very much. I had to play games in lowest settings, but now I can enjoy at max settings.resetting app data worked. I am very very greatful.

That was helpful for 1 day then it started acting out again. And now resetting data doesn't work.
