HP Chromebook - 14-ca061dx
Chrome OS

My HP 14-ca061dx Chromebook has not updated for several months.   I can't manually force an update.  This  Chromebook is about 3.5 years old and has an End of Life AUE date in June 2024.  I have tried a factory reset twice.  Any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are unable to update the Chrombook, I am glad to assist you.

If your system update doesn’t download or your Chromebook is several versions behind the current version, try the steps below. Test your Chromebook after each step to check if the problem is fixed.

  1. Turn off your Chromebook, then turn it back on.
  2. If you have trouble with your phone or Chromebook's mobile data to update your system, disconnect from the phone or mobile data. Connect to Wi-Fi or Ethernet instead.
  3. Reset your Chromebook.
  4. Recover your Chromebook.

Keep me posted.

If this helps, please mark the public post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.

Thank you for your response and recommended suggestions to resolve the issue with my HP Chromebook not updating.  I still have about 1.75 years left before the AUE stops all updates.   I tried turning off/on and I  reset or power washed the unit twice.   These actions did not resolve the issue of not updating to the current version.   I did not try the Recover your Chromebook option.   I ended up buying a new Chromebook, which immediately updated to the latest version.

Thanks,

@JayOhana
