HP ENVY 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-ep1000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

I installed a 2nd SSD which is working well. HP Support Assistant and Windows Disk Management report the new SSD is present and functioning.

However, HP Command Center stopped functioning after the new SSD install.

The splash screen appears (three horizontal lines with dots) but Command Center does not display its functions.

HP Command Center was functioning before the 2nd SSD install.

Drivers and BIOS are updated to the latest.

HP Envy 15-ep1000, Product number: 322W9AV.  Windows 11 (21H2).

 Any ideas?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi, @steve_h_1919 you could try doing a hard reset to see if it works, and have you thought of updating the BIOS to see whether it may fix the issue? Perhaps the new SSD needs a BIOS update for the HP Command Center to work.

Thanks for the reply.

I failed to mention that I performed a HARD reset by disconnecting all prereferrals and pressing the POWER Button for 15 Sec followed by a restart.

This was performed before making the original post.

Following the HARD reset, HP Command Center was still not functioning.

The original post mentions that the BIOS and drivers are up to date.

To be clear, F11 is the most recent BIOS available on the HP support site and installed on the machine.

Is there something I am missing?

Steve

Okay, I can also see that you are currently using Windows 11. Did you recently upgrade to Windows 11 or did it come pre-installed with Windows 11 when you bought the laptop?

HP Recommended

Windows 11 was pre-installed.

I am having a feeling that Windows 11 may be in conflict with the new SSD you installed and although the diagnostics checked out and it says the SSD is working which it is, the operating system may just have trouble starting HP Command Center due to software and hardware challenges that come with the Windows 11 operating system.

OK.

Could the problem be related to another post of mine?

Hi, @steve_h_1919 do you have a link to the post, so I can have a look at it?

Hi, @steve_h_1919 I just had a look at the post. There could be some relationship but at this point, it may probably be the operating system you are using. I say this because Windows 11 users in the community have complained a lot about hardware issues associated with Windows 11.

However, see if you can get in touch with HP Support for further assistance.
