HP Envy x360 15'6" (AMD version)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a peculiar problem with this application. This function is fantastic and I loved it for about 4 days until it broke on my entirely new computer. The F12 function key is bound to start the HP Command center application and allow me to change the fan /cpu settings according to what I do.

From nowhere the function stopped working after just a few days of use (regular f12 works great when I press FN+12 so its not a mechanical problem).
I tried starting the application without the function key and realized that it didnt save the settings i put in to it. Whatever I do it wont save the settings, and I believe its stuck in "Silent mode" leading to lower performance and lower fan speeds resulting in a very hot laptop.

I then deleted the application and redownloaded it from the only place its available; the microsoft store.

Right off the bat it loads extremely slow and when it starts up I only get three power options, not the 4 from previous and in accordance with the pictures shown in the microsoft shop. Again it doesn't save any settings I put in to it, and no fans rev up when placing it in performance mode like it used to.

When I go in to the app and look at system specifications it only says computer model, no other system information is viewable.

FIrstly: IS there any way I can fix this?

Secondly: Is there any way to restore the old version of windows I had when the computer was brand new a week ago?

Thanks in advance!

@JonasN

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
