Hello. I have a problem with upgrading TPM from version 1.2 to version 2.0 to be able to play faceit.

I have HP Compaq Elite 8300 PC and it has only 1.2 version of TPM and because of that i am not able to play faceit. I tried to do some stuff in BIOS but it didnt helped, also ive tried to upgrade it through device manager but it didnt work too. So now i dont know what to do and how to solve this problem besides buying a newer PC.

Please does anyone has any solution to fix this problem? I am clueless and dont know what to do with it.

Thank you so much for any help.

@bATYSTA,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Unfortunately, there is no supported way to upgrade the HP Compaq Elite 8300 from TPM 1.2 to TPM 2.0.

The Elite 8300 is an older ('legacy') business desktop built around Intel's 3rd Generation Core processors and was designed with a discrete TPM 1.2 device. HP did not release a BIOS or TPM firmware update that upgrades this platform to TPM 2.0, and the system does not support Intel Platform Trust Technology (PTT).

If FACEIT Anti-Cheat requires TPM 2.0, then unfortunately the Elite 8300 cannot meet that requirement through a BIOS setting or software update.

If Windows reports TPM 1.2 in tpm.msc, then the hardware is already present and operating as designed -it just cannot be upgraded to TPM 2.0.

If TPM 2.0 is a mandatory requirement for the games or services you use, upgrading to a newer platform that natively supports TPM 2.0 (or Intel PTT/AMD fTPM) will be necessary.

Kind Regards,
