Microsoft Windows 11

Hi I have a question regarding HP Connect an a setting.

We have set this setting "Native OS Firmware Update Service" to disable.

After reading https://connect.admin.hp.com/static/HPConnectUserGuide.pdf

"The HP BIOS setting ‘Native OS Firmware Update Service’ must be set to Enable (the default)
to allow remote BIOS updates. A BIOS Updates policy sent to the device may fail if an older
BIOS for a platform does not have the setting or the setting is set to Disable".

We have experienced that many clients are not receiving bios updates with Windows Update.

If we don’t change “Native OS Firmware Update Service” will the client receive bios updates with HP Connect?

When selected, the PC will allow BIOS
and Firmware updates using Microsoft
Windows Updates.
When deselected, the PC will block BIOS
and Firmware updates using Microsoft
Windows Updates.

When using a Remidation script in Intune for deploying "HP Connect Bios Setting Disable Windows Update" it fails when schedualed and gets this error messag.

"Bios Setting : Native OS Firmw are Update Service : Error : Failed to set BIOS setting: Native OS Firmware Update Service to desired value variation, Failed to set Native OS Firmware Update Service to Disable. Access denied or incorrect password.. Possible dependency c ondition not met. + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Write-Error], WriteErrorException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.WriteErrorException,remediate.ps1"

When running this manualy the remidation script is able to coplett.

I don't know how to answer that. There could be several reasons: incorrect script, incorrect BIOS password entered, etc.
