Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have Windows 10 version 1909 and I have notice for a long time know that many of my apps and or features are not working. My Hp coolsense used to be on my taskbar and it is not anymore. When I do a search for it on my computer it doesn't find it. I found it in the control panel but when I click it and nothing happens. I right click it and then click open but still noting happens. It's like it isn't even installed anymore.

Also the sound on my laptop is really low. When I listen to music or watch a movie it sounds low even when I put it all the way to 100. It sounds like it is like at 40 or 50 volume. It says I have HP IDT High Definition Audio CODEC on my computer only but I remember that before it said I also had something called Realtek as an option for sound but that doesn't show on my computer anymore. My computer has preinstalled beats but that doesn't help at all for louder sound just a tad better sound. Beats had also disappeared from my computer at one point but I was able to get it back on my computer but haven't been able to make HP Coolsense nor make my computer sound louder.

I have read online that a lot of people have had similar issues after updating their Windows 10. There is a new Windows 10 update version 2004 and I don't know if it will make things worst if and or when I update. How do I fix the issue of HP Coolsense and my computer sounding so low?

@Yamina25 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the HP Coolsense app and other apps are not working on Windows 10.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Download and install the latest version of HP CoolSense from the HP CoolSense Technology download site.

Please run the SFC scan. you can refer to this Link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/4026529/windows-10-using-system-file-checker

I have a few steps you could perform to resolve the issue:

Remove the audio drivers & Reinstall the original drivers

Update the Audio drivers from the Official HP website for windows 10 (click on change on the top to switch between OS).

Increase volume on playback device settings after setting your speaker as the default device.

For more steps, follow a similar post on the HP forums: click here

  • Perform a hard reset

  • Reset BIOS to defaults

  • Run the Audio test from the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)

  • Update the BIOS

  • Reset your computer

  • Perform an HP System Recovery
