Hi,
we just received our notebook, a Pavilion 14 with the new Icy Lake processor. Now something interesting - HP Coolsense ist installed, but it is in Dutch?!!! Should be either German (we live in Germany) or at least in English.
One would think "no problem, just download the German version and install it", but I cannot find it anywhere. What is available is HP Coolsense 2.22 which looks quite different and is obviously an older version. The new version is packaged as a WIndows App and all the files in it date from October 2019. Where can I get it? Or is there a secret trick to change the language of the App?
Any ideas (or similar experiences) would be much appreciated..
Many thanks,
Oliver

Hi @Belboz64
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist.
Download and install the latest version of HP CoolSense from the HP CoolSense Technology download site.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Asmita, thanks -
I am aware of this version, actually it is not the latest one, I found a new version (2.22, sp86870.exe) somewhere on the HP site. All these versions are normal programs however, whereas the version installed on our laptop is a Windows 10 App (installed in the hidden folder C:\Programs\WindowsApps), so I assume it is even newer. But maybe it is just the packaging, the functionality may be the same. Still, it is a bit strange.
Rgds,
Oliver

@Belboz64 Does that mean the version suggested by the last tech corrected the language issue or is that something you still need help with?
Please clarify.

Well, the situation is like this:
- I have a brand new laptop with the latest CPU from Intel (Icy Lake) and a brand new version of HP Coolsense (I looked into the WindowsApps directory and it appears the installed version was put together in October 2019). Unfortunately, ths version is in Dutch.
- I ask where I could find the German version of the App and I receive a pointer to an _older_ version (says something like "2014" when you install it).
I installed the older version, it looks very similar to the new version (but not identical), so it may work. Then again, maybe it doesn't, after all it is a new CPU and a new chipset. How can I find out? Is there a specific test I can try?
In do not want to be a PITA about this, there are only 2 buttons in the App and since I now know what they do, I can live with it.
Still it is a bit strange that HP packages new versions of Apps with its laptops and the support webpages do not get updated.
Regards,
Oliver

@Belboz64 The support pages will get updated eventually, although, you are right, it should have been done with the release of the package installed on your device, I'll forward your feedback and hopefully, they'll get the systems updated soon,
Thanks for the details and it looks like we are the end of the line as off now, until further updates are available on the HP website.
