Why do I have to keep installing HP Display Control software?

Hi @Ronspa

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how inconvenient it feels to keep reinstalling HP Display Control, and I appreciate the effort you’ve already made to manage it.

Let’s go through a few steps that can help stabilize the software so it stays installed and functions smoothly:

Uninstall any existing HP Display Control version from your PC.

  • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Apps > Installed apps.
  • Locate HP Display Control and uninstall it.

Restart your PC to clear any residual files.

Download and install the latest version directly from HP’s support site:
HP Display Control Software and Drivers

  • Enter your product name or serial number.
  • Select Software – Solutions or Utility category.
  • Download HP Display Control and install it.

After installation, restart your PC again to ensure the software integrates properly.

Open the HP App on Windows 11 and check for updates under “Printer & PC Settings” > “Software & Drivers.” This ensures the software remains current and less likely to require repeated reinstallations.

If you use antivirus or cleanup utilities, add HP Display Control to the exclusion list so it isn’t removed or blocked during scans.

You’ve already shown persistence by reinstalling it multiple times. With a clean uninstall, fresh installation from HP’s site, and ensuring updates are applied, the software should remain steady and ready to give you smooth control over your display settings.

Would you like me to also share how to set HP Display Control to launch automatically with Windows so it’s always available without needing manual intervention?

If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
