Hello, I am trying to connect my drawing tablet to my laptop using the USB-C port. I saw on other forums that there is a video output from the USB port so I thought that it would work. So I got myself a thunderbolt cable and attempted to connect it, but it didn't work. I even tried to connect it to my keyboard and it wouldn't even power on. I am however able to charge and access my phone using the same port which seems odd to me. Could somebody help me? Thanks!

Your machine could be one of the following machines:
For example : HP ENVY x360 Convert 15m-eu0043dx
It has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge) port which is a good candidate for HP USB-C G5 dock.
That port is NOT a Thunderbolt™ 3 nor Thunderbolt™ 4 port. What is the requirement for your drawing tablet ? Does it require a Thunderbolt port ? If yes then that won't work.
Regards.
