HP Envy x360 convertible laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a ten day old HP ENVY x360 convertible laptop, and today it ran updates for the first time. Now when I use it, the cursor highlights everything, as if I'm holding the touch pad down; everything i type is in caps even though the light on the caps lock button is not on, I've tried toggling that but it doesn't fix the issue; and I have to press the keys on the keyboard multiple times before the key is input. So basically, it's unusable and I'm supremely upset by this. I've used it only 5 or 6 times with no issues whatsoever. I'm having a hard time searching for solutions to this because nothing I've seen so far quite fits the issue(s) I'm having. I did check for any keyboard updates and there were none.

Any help is very appreciated. This is really disappointing.

@Ctbird

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues with the keyboard and touchpad.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the product number of your computer?

Does this happen on any specific application? (Like Chrome, word, Excel)

Meanwhile, I recommend you uninstall the keyboard and the touchpad driver from the device manager and then download and install it from the below link.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

Here is how it is done.

  1. Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
  2. Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
  3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
  4. When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.

NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
