I just was given this laptop and trying to get all the drivers installed but I am getting (2) errors in the device manager. One is SM Bus controller and the other says unknown device. 

 

I have tried for several days on my own and can't solve this one myself.

Hi:

 

The AMD chipset driver will install the SMBus controller.

 

Select the version of the Windows driver you need from the link below, install and restart the PC.

 

970 Drivers & Support | AMD

 

If you are lucky, it may also install the unknown device too.

 

If the unknown device is not installed by the chipset driver, please post the hardware ID for the unknown device so I can figure out what driver it needs.

 

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device:

 

How to Find Drivers for Unknown Devices in the Device Manager (howtogeek.com)
