Dear Expert, Dear Forum Members,
I am writing to you with the following error: the HP EliteBook 840 G4 works perfectly under the Windows 10 operating system. Until now, after every update. Before Windows 11 (yes, I know there is no support for Windows 11) updates, the keyboard and trackpoint work perfectly. After some update, the keyboard and trackpoint do not work. But, only after shutting down. If I shut down again, it works again.
I know that the keyboard will not work after a shutdown because the Windows welcome screen makes a slight crackling sound for a thousandth of a second. If I shut down and restart, the keyboard and trackpoint work again. There are no errors under Windows 10, even after updating and shutting down. What could be causing this error? The BIOS is the latest on it. Thank you very much for your help everyone.
Have a nice day,
Frank

I have a the same model as yours and already fresh install windows 11 with TPM cleared and it happens to me too.
It might sound strange but you need to change your windows 11 account into "local".
Settings -> Accounts -> Your Info -> Under "Account settings".
Godspeed
