HP Elite Book 840 G5

Hello HP Community,

I recently encountered an issue with my HP EliteBook 840 G5 after installing Windows. Following the installation, I noticed that the WiFi option was missing, and despite attempting to search for it, I couldn't find any means to connect to WiFi.

In my attempt to find a solution, I turned to Google and stumbled upon Baya's Guide, where they suggested leaving the laptop off for 2-3 hours, after which the WiFi option would reappear. Interestingly, this solution worked for me, but I'm left wondering about the underlying reason behind this peculiar phenomenon.

Could someone shed light on why leaving the laptop off for a few hours would restore the WiFi option? What could have caused its disappearance in the first place, especially following a Windows installation? I'm keen to understand the technical intricacies behind this issue to prevent it from occurring again in the future.

Thank you for your assistance!

Warm regards,
