Hi,
I have been having issues with my Touchpad not working for a while now, getting it to work again by doing the usual disable/enable driver, uninstalling etc. However, not it has completely stopped and nothing I have tried (I have gone through every single question and response on HP and Microsoft's community support pages, Reddit and even through the HP supportGPT) has worked. Is anyone able to help me at all?

Hi @Cycl0ps,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you for reaching out, and we understand how frustrating it can be when your HP Envy x360 Convertible 15 touchpad stops responding, especially after trying all the usual troubleshooting methods. You're proactive, and we appreciate the effort you’ve already made.
Let’s go deeper and help get your touchpad working again.
Step 1: Confirm Touchpad is Not Disabled in BIOS
Sometimes, touchpad functionality can be disabled at the firmware level.
- Power off the laptop.
- Power it on and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly, then F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
- Navigate to the Advanced or System Configuration tab.
- Look for a setting like Internal Pointing Device or Touchpad, and make sure it is enabled.
- Press F10 to save and exit BIOS.
If you don’t see this option, proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Reinstall the Touchpad Driver from HP
You may have already tried reinstalling drivers, but we want to make sure you're using HP's official Synaptics or Precision Touchpad driver, not just what Windows installed by default.
- Go to 👉 Official HP® Support Drivers Page
- Enter your full model number (e.g., 15-ee0xxx, 15-ed0xxx, etc.).
- Download the latest Touchpad driver (Synaptics or ELAN or Windows Precision, depending on your model).
- Install and restart your PC.
📌 If no touchpad drivers are listed, proceed with the Intel I/O or chipset drivers, which manage input devices.
Step 3: Re-enable via Device Manager
- Press Windows + X → Select Device Manager.
- Expand Human Interface Devices and Mice, and other pointing devices.
- Look for an HID-compliant touchpad, Synaptics, or ELAN touchpad.
- Right-click → Uninstall (check “Delete driver software” if available).
- Restart your laptop, and Windows should reinstall the default drivers.
- If not, install the downloaded HP driver from Step 2 manually.
Step 4: Check Touchpad Toggle Key
Some Envy x360 models include a physical touchpad toggle function key, usually F5, F6, or a key with a touchpad icon with a line through it.
- Press Fn + [that key] once to re-enable the touchpad.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
