Considering lack of support from HP and surprisingly good results of combining F19 BIOS with recent AMD drivers for Vega 8 I wouldn't be surprised if F19 BIOS became all of the sudden a high demand item for those who want to go beyond what's offered by the so called HP Support and add extra oomph to their laptops... by ignoring HP entirely and relying on AMD drivers only. F19 makes it possible. Perversly it seems like an attractive proposition now, LOL.

Never underestimate human ingenuity.

The main issue with the F.19 BIOS was really the GPU drivers themselves, which were not updated to take into account the changes made to the BIOS. Otherwise, the 1GB VRAM is nice to have and I still have force-installed December 2018 desktop drivers and have not had a SINGLE crash or glitch...works better than stock drivers ever did. I'll just wait for AMD to release their official ones and simply not fix what isn't broken lol.

It won't matter yoiu can't go back from f20.  I did the upgrade to f20 and after 5 hours using the Jan driver did not have any crash. it might not be just a renaming of the F17 to F20 bIos.. However since these HP wonder boys won't tell what they actually did we will never know because both AMD an Hp think we are stupid......

I am planning to flash the chip with a chip programmer

As Springsteen once sang, If dreams came true oh wouldn't that be nice... A new BIOs with user selectable amount of vram and AMD properly supplying drivers as they shpould have in the first place.. Well maybe in another monthr or so the drivers. I don't expect much from the HP wonderboys though......
