Hi @ex_Tex,

It seems you are experiencing issues with the HP Inc. software component update on your HP 850 running Windows 11. Here are some steps you might consider to resolve this issue:

  1. Check for Windows and HP Updates:

    • Make sure all other Windows updates are installed, as missing dependencies can sometimes cause issues with specific updates.
    • Use HP Support Assistant to check and install any pending updates specific to HP hardware or software. You can download it from the HP Support Assistant if it's not already installed on your system.
  2. Manually Install the Update:

  3. DISM and SFC Scans:

    • Although your initial DISM scan showed no corruption, try running the following to repair any lingering issues:
      • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
      • Follow this with sfc /scannow to check and repair system files.
  4. Check WAU Manager (Windows Update):

    • Occasionally, inconsistencies in Windows Update information can occur. Ensure that the system is properly detecting all updates. Use Windows Update Troubleshooter if necessary.
  5. Review Event Logs:

    • Check the Windows Event Viewer for any error logs relating to the update process. These logs can provide further insight into what's causing the problem.
  6. Restore and Retry:

    • If the component store is still repairable after these steps, consider performing a system restore to a point before the update was attempted and then try the update procedure again.

I'm an HP Employee.
