Welcome to the HP Community --

Any device connected to your Wireless network and the Internet consumes data.

The amount of data required is generally related to the number of monitored processes running on the device that demand Internet resources.

You can perhaps reduce the data load.

A couple of examples --

Make sure Windows Updates and your HP software / drivers are both current and installed --

Old drivers / software can inhibit or cause network issues or conflicts.

Switch Windows Updates to Metered

Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Download updates over metered connections

Switch off / Disable programs in Startup that you do not need running constantly -

Data hogs might include Cloud accounts, Email, Music apps, Mobile Printing

Task Manager > Start up apps

Disconnect your HP printer from the standard Wireless network and connect the printer using Wi-Fi Direct.  Be Aware >> Read before making the change.   What?  Some services require the printer to be connected to the Internet -- For example, Remote printing, Instant Ink, any HP+ enabled printer.
