Microsoft Windows 11

I am using my laptop for work purposes. My job requires that I actively use several of my function keys to ensure speed and accuracy. The model of HP that I have requires that I activate the Fn key to access the function of the function keys. This dramatically reduces my efficiency when working since I am used to also working on a desktop PC where this is not required. It has been a difficult adjustment. I have tried several hacks listed online to change this, as well as reviewing all keyboard settings available. The hack to access the BIOS settings does not work for this model (restarting the computer and repeatedly pressing the F10 function key). Is it possible to change the functions of these keys so that I can use them as F1-F12 rather than as the secondary functions (volume control, brightness, etc.)?

There is a utility know as FastKeys that allows you to reprogram keys -- but you would have to install it and try it to see if it will do what you need done.

Seems to me a simpler solution would be to plug in an external keyboard that does not require your pressing a FN key to activate the Function Keys.  They can generally be had for a few dollars
