Hello,

My Camera is not opening. Showing error 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>

Your help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried Windows update and HP Drivers update and Device Manager scanning for hardware changes. Nothing has worked for me.

@Ani003, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

The error message "We can't find your camera. Error code: 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>" in the Camera app can occur for several reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Verify Camera Installation:

  • Inspect the top of your computer monitor for a small lens which indicates the presence of a webcam.
  • If there is no built-in webcam, you will need to use an external USB webcam.

Toggle Webcam Privacy Switch:

  • Some HP notebooks include a physical webcam privacy switch or a shutter key. Make sure this is set to allow the camera to work.
  • Slide the switch on the side of your computer or press the shutter key on your keyboard to turn on the webcam.

Perform a Power Reset:

  • Sometimes, performing a hard reset can help clear the memory without losing personal data. This step can refresh system detection of hardware components like the camera.

Check Internal Connections:

  • If these steps do not work, the webcam might have a loose internal connection and might require service to check the physical connections.

Install a New USB Camera:

  • If the built-in camera is not functioning, consider purchasing a separate USB camera and connecting it to your system.

Could you please provide a link to download HP Truevision HD Camera driver.

Previously I have seen this driver in Device Manager -> Cameras, now it is missing.

I believe installing this driver would help.

Hi @Ani003,

Thank you for getting back to us with the update.

I understand you’re looking for the HP TrueVision HD Camera driver. I’d be happy to clarify this for you.

HP TrueVision cameras do not have a separate downloadable driver on the HP website.
These webcams use the native Windows UVC (USB Video Class) driver, which is built into Windows 10/11.

So if the camera is missing in Device Manager, it means the system is not detecting the hardware itself, and installing a driver won’t bring it back.

Please Try the Steps Below

1. Show hidden devices

Open Device Manager

Click View > Show hidden devices

Expand Cameras, Imaging Devices, and Sound, video and game controllers

Check if HP TrueVision HD appears greyed out
→ If yes, right-click > Uninstall device, then restart.

2. Check BIOS Camera Setting

Restart the laptop

Press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS

Look for System Configuration → Built-in Camera

Ensure it is Enabled

(Some Omen models have this option.)

3. Reset Windows Hardware Detection

Shut down the laptop

Unplug charger

Hold Power button for 20–25 seconds

Restart

4. HP Hardware Diagnostic

Run the HP UEFI Hardware Diagnostics:

Restart your laptop

Press F2

Select Component Tests → Camera

If the test says No camera detected, it confirms a hardware or connection issue.

I hope this helps.
