Hi, I can't figure out how to use the keyboard shortcuts to move between tabs in Excel. Usually it's CTRL and Page Up or Page Down keys but that's not working, maybe because the page up and page down keys share the up and down keys. An internet search said use CTRL and FN and Page up or Page down, but that's not working for me either.

@David1270, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Keyboard Shortcuts for Navigating Excel Tabs on HP Laptops!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The standard keyboard shortcut to move between tabs in Excel is typically Ctrl + Page Up or Ctrl + Page Down. However, on certain HP laptops where the Page Up and Page Down functions might be shared with the arrow keys or require pressing the Fn key, this might not work as expected.

Here are some steps you can try to address this issue:

Check your Fn Key settings:

Use Alternative Navigation Keys:

  • Ensure that you are using Ctrl + Fn + the arrow keys correctly. Since these keys are typically not native to Excel shortcuts, verifying their configuration could be beneficial.

Use Built-in Excel Navigation:

  • You could use additional Excel shortcuts if your keyboard setup restricts using standard keys:
    • Alt + W + S: This activates the Switch Windows option, allowing you to select another open workbook.

Update your Keyboard Software:

  • Make sure your keyboard driver and the HP support software are up to date, which may resolve any shortcut recognition issues. Visit HP.com for downloading updates specific to your product.

Custom Keyboard Mapping Software:

  • Consider using software like Sharpkeys or KeyTweak to remap keys temporarily. You can search the internet for such software and use it to create a more intuitive shortcut for your specific keyboard layout.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
