Hi, I bought this HP Pavilion - 15-cc154cl (Product: 2SS22UA#ABA). It originally had Windows 10 when I purchased it. It was upgraded to Windows 11 (when Microsoft offered the free upgrade). Then some time after that it had a problem--when it went to sleep mode, it can not wakeup. It does not respond to any keys--not even CTRL+ALT+DEL, nor pressing the power button. The only way to use it again is to hold the power button to complete shut it down and then restart it.
ChatGPT and Grok both report that is a well-known "Windows 11" sleep problem and recommended update on BIOS, Chipset drivers, etc. as they believe conflicts among drivers and BIOS caused the problem.
I went to HP Support website. HP's website can detect my laptop model and serial number. But it does not have any BIOS and drivers listed.
Can someone point me to the right page to download the appropriate BIOS and drivers to solve this "Sleep" problem?
Many Thanks!
-David

Thanks a lot for the files. They solved the problem!!
Tips for other having the same issue:
The BIOS update failed first. It needs a BIC directory on the EFI (\EFI\HP\BIC). So need to mount the partition as a drive, create that directory, and then unmount it. Then run the BIOS update.
Thanks a lot for the help!

One more thing to add: this laptop had Windows 10 originally. It was upgraded to Win 11 by Microsoft auto process. There was some orphan partitions. I had to use Mini Partition Tool to re-organize the partition. Not sure it mattered, but it was part of the work before it worked.

I jumped to conclusion. The laptop went to sleep (I set to 1 minute) and came back a couple of time. Seems to work. But after I use the laptop for an hour and left idle, it went to sleep and could not come back. The same problem. Not able to wake up and had to complete power down.
ChatGPT says it needs an update on the Display Adapter driver. Currently it has Intel UHD Graphics 620. I also noticed that the mouse pad stopped working after the laptop was used for some time in a session. So the touchpad driver may have a problem as well.
The HP Support – Software and Driver
Need help to get the most updated drivers for Display and Mousepad.
Why doesn't HP make it easy to find the most recent drivers?
Anyway, appreciate any help!

Hi, David:
Unfortunately, HP does not have any W11 drivers on your notebook's support page.
support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-pavilion-15-cc100-laptop-pc/model/18477623
So the only suggestion I can offer would be:
For the graphics, use the latest Intel UHD driver for your notebook's Intel GPU
Intel® 7th-10th Gen Processor Graphics - Windows*
For the touchpad, use the latest W10 driver HP has available on the support page
You'll have to know which model touchpad your notebook has...Synaptics or Elan.

Thanks for getting back!
I started getting help from GPT.
Essentially, the problem is about device drivers preventing the PC from wakening.
GPT recommended using only S3 sleep state.
I updated all kinds of drivers based on GPT. It found the drivers too.
Put the PC to sleep last night and this morning woke it up successfully. Hope it stays this way and I will be happy.
Thanks!
