Hi everyone,

I have recently purchased a USB 3.0 device to use with my HP laptop but for some reason, the devices do not recognise the laptop as 3.0.

I have looked at the device manager and the side of the laptop and the ports are definitely 3.0. The ports are working for 2.0 devices but not 3.0. Is there a way I can almost "switch on" the USB 3.0 function? I'm not very good with tech so I have no idea what to do!

i have checked for updates and reinstalling the HUB but have had no success.

Sorry, but there is no way to enable or disable USB 3.x using a switch on the PC; either it works or it does not.

IF you go into Device Manager and scroll down through the Devices, you will eventually come to a heading for USB and when you expand that, if you see entries for USB3.0 Host Controller and USB Root Hub (USB 3.0), that means the proper drivers are installed already.
