HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 11

After one of Windows 10 or Windows 11 updates my SD Card reader stopped working. I tried all the suggestions and all the version of the driver on the HP site and nothing worked. I then updated my BIOS and updated the driver to a new one on the Microsoft updates website and it worked. I am not sure why Microsoft did not update it via Windows update for me automatically.

Steps to solve:

I searched Microsoft drivers for an update:

https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=alcorlink+pcie+card+reader

Then downloaded and installed latest version. That was version 1.19.6.2400

It had this in the description:
Alcorlink Corp. - MTD - 1.19.6.2400 Windows 10, Vibranium and later, Servicing Drivers, Windows 10, Vibranium and later, Upgrade & Servicing Drivers Drivers (Other Hardware) 8/11/2021 n/a 692 KB

I extracted all the files in the cab file and then on the properties for the SD Card device - under Device Manager->Memory Technology Devices->Alcorlink PCIE Card Reader-> Right Click -> Update Driver->Driver (tab)-> Update Driver->Brows My Computer for Drivers-> Choose folder where the cab file contents are.

After updating to this version my SDCARD reader worked again on Windows 11 and could read the SD Cards again.
