Hi @Jabed-Hasan,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for the details. Let’s go step-by-step to help you restore touchpad functionality on your HP Pavilion 15-cs2012nx running Windows 11. This issue usually occurs due to one of the following:
Step 1: Check If Touchpad Is Disabled in BIOS
Sometimes, the touchpad is disabled at the firmware level, especially after driver or OS changes.
➤ To check the BIOS touchpad setting:
- Turn off your laptop.
- Power it on and immediately press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS Setup.
- Use the arrow keys to navigate to Advanced or Device Configuration.
- Look for Touchpad or Internal Pointing Device.
- Make sure it is enabled.
- Save changes (F10) and restart.
Step 2: Check Touchpad Is Enabled in Windows
➤ Use Keyboard Shortcut First
Press Fn + F5 (or F6, depending on your keyboard model) — this toggles the touchpad on/off.
➤ Then check in Settings:
- Windows key → Type Touchpad → Open Touchpad Settings.
- Ensure Touchpad is toggled ON.
- Scroll down → “Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected” → Enable that too.
Step 3: Reinstall the Proper Synaptics or Precision Touchpad Driver
After uninstalling drivers, Windows may fall back to a generic driver that doesn’t work.
➤ Here’s how to reinstall the correct driver:
- Right-click Start → Device Manager.
- Expand "Human Interface Devices" and "Mice and other pointing devices".
- Look for:
- Synaptics Touchpad
- HID-compliant touchpad
- I2C HID Device
- Right-click and choose Uninstall device for any touchpad-related entries.
- Restart the PC.
Windows will attempt to reinstall the default drivers.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
