Hi,
Outlook 2013 stopped syncing emails. Been trying to install a later version of office, however it always fails. After trying to run Windows update fails to install update "Windows 10 20H2" as the laptop needs a bios update. Run the HP utility and it says it's the latest version and there are no updates available. Not sure where else to look for a BIOS or how to resolve. Any support would be much appreciated.

Hi @Aj1878
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry to hear that you're facing multiple issues with your HP Pavilion Notebook, from Outlook not syncing to BIOS update roadblocks. I understand how frustrating it can be when updates don't go as planned. Let's work together to find a solution.
- Have you checked the current BIOS version installed on your laptop and compared it with the latest version available on the HP support website?
- Are you encountering any specific error messages when attempting to install the BIOS update or the Windows 10 20H2 update?
- Have you tried manually downloading and installing the latest BIOS update instead of using the HP Support Assistant?
Let's try these steps.
Manually Check for BIOS Updates on HP's Official Website:
- Visit the HP Support website and enter your laptop's serial number or model (W0Y09EA#ABU).
- Navigate to the BIOS section and compare the available version with your installed one (Win + R > type "msinfo32" > check BIOS version/date).
- Download and install the update manually if a newer version is available.
Use HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI Tool:
- Restart your laptop and press F2 to enter HP Diagnostics.
- Run a BIOS integrity check to confirm if it's functioning correctly and rule out hardware-related issues.
Perform a Clean Boot Before Installing Updates:
- Press Win + R, type msconfig, go to the Services tab, check "Hide all Microsoft services," and click Disable all.
- Restart the laptop and try installing the Windows 10 update or the Office upgrade again.
Reset Windows Update Components:
Consider a Manual Windows 10 20H2 Installation:
- Use the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's website to create an installation USB.
- Boot from the USB and choose to upgrade while keeping files and apps.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be worth consulting HP phone support for further assistance on BIOS updates or potential hardware limitations.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi Elohi,
Thank you for your reply. I have tried the support website to double check the available BIOS version but no luck
I haven't encountered any issue with a BIOS update as I am unable to locate one. When I try to install the Windows update. I get the below error.
As there is no bios available / software available at all on HP website I don't know where else I can check to confirm if the BIOS is the correct version or not. The only information I have on version etc is in the screenshot I attached.
I have tried all the below steps including resetting windows update components with no luck. I still have the same problem.
Thank you for the suggestions much appreciated.
