Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I recently (less than 2 weeks ago) bought an HP Pavillion e-200 Intel Core i7 Laptop. I have only used it twice for less than 10 minutes and both times it got very hot, and the battery life drained by 20%. The fan ends up turning on and is very loud, but the laptop won't cool down. Is there an update or setting that will fix these issues or am I better off sending it back and going with a more reliable laptop? I'm in school so I need to be able to use my laptop for a minimum of 4-5 hours each day without issue. Please help!
