I’m using an HP Pavilion (Windows 10/11). My touchpad is not working and “Mice and other pointing devices” does not appear in Device Manager.

Under Human Interface Devices, I see “I2C HID Device” with a yellow warning icon. This happened after a Windows update / OS reinstall.

What I tried:

  • Enabled Show hidden devices

  • Checked BIOS (touchpad enabled)

  • Touchpad toggle keys (Fn + F*)

  • USB mouse works

  • Touchpad still not detected

Looking for:
Correct driver order / fix for HP Pavilion I2C touchpad issue.
