I have a HP Pavilion x2 Detachable Laptop notebook and my notebook is not keeping a charge. I  just purchase this notebook last year.  Should the battery be change in it already?

@MSCROGGINS

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Have you attempted to check with an alternate adapter?
  • Did you follow all the steps mentioned on this thread?

If you have updated the bios from the HP website and yet the issue persists,

I recommend you reinstall the battery drivers:

  • Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
  • Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
  • Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,
  • Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

If the issue persists, please Contact HP to set up a hardware service:

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/?openCLC=true

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get the phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.
