I have a HP Pavilion Laptop -15-eg100 touch optional device and I have been try to connect it with the HP pen. Are these two devices compatible?

I would say, "No - the HP Pen is not compatible with your computer."
Sad news - No pens found for this series of computer.
As a start, there is no pen mentioned in the service manual.
I cannot find evidence that this series of machine supports any pen.
Touchscreen is not a guarantee that the screen supports an active stylus.

If your computer has a touchscreen,
If an active stylus is not an option on your machine,
Consider a Passive Stylus / Pen
This is not the same thing as an active stylus, of course.
Passive pen works like your finger on the touchscreen.
