I am trying to figure out why my laptop refuses to let me download the HP Pen Control app. I bought this laptop with this pen and it is an HP Spectre. According to other message boards I had to download some firmware but that didn't work because the firmware required me to pair my pen with the laptop, which I don't know how to do. I tried to look up how to do that but I could only find explanations with pens I did not have, and I tried to have my laptop find it via bluetooth to no avail. My pen uses batteries and has no "top button," only two side buttons. I have no idea what kind of pen it is nor where to find that information. I just wanted to change one of the side buttons from a right-click to an undo for my art. I am getting extremely frustrated at how extremely difficult such a simple thing is to do.

To anyone who can help or who reads this, thank you so much.

Hello @Amethyst1,

Could you try installing the following, if you haven't already done so:

HP Pen Control

Description:

HP Pen Control software provides several different functions, and allows users to change the functions of the two barrel buttons on the HP Pen. This package is provided for supported computer models running a supported operating system.

Fix and enhancements:

- Provides support for HP Pen models 1MR94AA, Y0C43AV, and 1CP24AV.
- Provides the updated software.

Please install and restart the laptop. Then try finding the application. Let me know how it all goes.

Kind regards,
Eddy
