Hi everyone,
I've been using my HP Spectre x360 for a year now and the pen that came with it has worked perfectly for the past year. I haven't used it for around a month now and when I picked it up again to use for a note taking app for school the pen didn't register on the screen.
I made sure that the battery was fully charged, I updated all my drivers, even uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for touchscreen and pen functions but still it refuses to even register on the screen whenever I try to use it.
I need some help with this, as other posts about this try to help but don't fix the problem. I would appreciate all the help I can get. I have inserted a photo of the pen along with the post also a photo of it fully charged. It has no top bluetooth button and apparently it has no bluetooth at all. Any possible answers that anyone has? Maybe you've delt with the problem before?
Thanks all for any help.

@dfkball, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Perform HP Component Test
Use HP's built-in UEFI diagnostics:
Shut down your laptop completely.
Turn it back on and immediately press Esc repeatedly, then press F2 to open HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
Navigate to Component Tests > Touch Screen and follow the on-screen steps to test touch and pen input.
If touch input passes, but the pen doesn’t respond, it's possibly a pen or digitizer issue.
Uninstall/Reinstall Drivers
A. Uninstall:
Press Windows + X > Device Manager
Expand Human Interface Devices
Right-click and uninstall:
HID-compliant touch screen
HID-compliant pen
Intel Precise Touch Device (if present)
Anything with "stylus" or "digitizer"
Check "Delete the driver software for this device" if prompted.
Reboot your PC.
B. Reinstall:
After rebooting, Windows should reinstall the correct drivers.
If not, go to HP Support Assistant or:
HP Drivers for 14-eu0000
Download the latest:
Intel Integrated Sensor Solution
Touch firmware
Graphics drivers (Intel or AMD)
BIOS/UEFI update
Recalibrate/Reset Windows Pen Settings
Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Pen & Windows Ink
Try "Reset pen settings" or uncheck/recheck the pen options.
Also go to Settings > System > Display > Advanced display and make sure the refresh rate is correct (usually 60Hz or 120Hz).
Update or Reflash Pen Firmware
Sometimes the pen firmware gets stuck. If the pen is rechargeable and supports updates:
Go to HP Support Assistant > Updates
Look for any pen firmware updates
If available, apply and reboot.
Check Pen Input via Windows Ink Workspace
Type "Windows Ink Workspace" in the search bar and open it.
Try using the pen in Whiteboard or Sketchpad.
If it doesn’t register hover or clicks, then likely a hardware or digitizer issue.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
