@MY_20, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP pen is experiencing issues such as leaking ink or writing without touching the screen, here are some potential solutions:

Check for Ink Leaks:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridge is properly installed in the pen. Sometimes, incorrect installation can lead to leakage.
  • Inspect the pen for any visible signs of damage or cracks that might cause ink to leak. If you find any, consider replacing the pen or cartridge.

Avoid Using Damaged Pens:

  • If the pen is severely damaged, it might be best to replace it with a new one to prevent further issues and ensure smooth operation.

Calibrate the Pen:

  • Check the calibration settings on your device. Calibration helps optimize the pen's performance and might resolve the issue if the pen is writing without contact.
  • To calibrate your pen, navigate to your device's control panel and search for pen calibration settings. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete calibration.

Firmware Update:

  • Sometimes software issues can affect the pen’s performance. Make sure your device's firmware is up-to-date, as updates sometimes include enhancements that can resolve hardware communication issues.

Cleaning Contacts:

  • Ensure the screen’s surface and the pen’s tip are clean. Dirt or residue can interfere with the pen's functioning and cause unexpected behavior.
