Hello! I recently bought a HP ProDesk 600 G2 Mini from (refurbished) so that i could refresh the OS and install ubuntu on it for a mini server for my friends and I. However, after receiving it the computer would not turn on, so I took it apart, figured out the issue, and put it back together. Once i finally got it powered on i found out that only the wifi works, no lights from the ethernet ports. Assuming that i reassembled it wrong, i took it apart again and reassembled it. Still no indicator lights. So i then tried to manually install the drivers from intel, still no indicator lights. Eventually a few days later, bought a new usb3.0 to ethernet adapter and ethernet cord from best buy. Tested it on my main laptop, both worked and functioned perfectly, however when i went to plug it into the mini pc, i got the indicator lights to flash but not to remain constant. Eventually i wiped the OS and installed ubuntu assuming it might just need a good reset to get it working. But nope. Still only wifi only. I even went into the bios and ensured the correct settings were on for the ethernet adapter, tried turning them off, etc. All in all, i’ve been having no luck connecting via ethernet.

I have tried to:

reinstall intel drivers

reinstall os

change bios settings

changed the ethernet cable

used ethernet adapter

switched to ubuntu

verified network settings on my router were not interfering

ran hardware diagnostics, which said ethernet should work

ultimately i am at my end as ive been trying to troubleshoot for 2 weeks now between my work schedule.
