Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with the RECHARGEABLE MPP 2.0 TILT PEN .to resolve the issue with your HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen on your HP Spectre x360 16-inch laptop, you can follow these steps:

1. Ensure Compatibility

First, ensure that your HP Spectre x360 16-inch 2-in-1 Laptop is compatible with the HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen. According to HP’s documentation, the Spectre x360 series should support the MPP 2.0 protocol, but it’s always good to double-check compatibility on the HP website.

2. Update Windows and HP Drivers

Make sure your operating system and drivers are up to date.

Update Windows:

  1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  2. Click Check for updates and install any available updates.

  3. Download and install the latest BIOS, chipset, and other relevant drivers for your laptop.

3. Install HP Pen Control Software

Although you mentioned having the Pen Control Plus app, make sure you have the latest version installed:

  1. Visit the Microsoft Store.
  2. Search for HP Pen Control or HP Pen Control Plus and ensure you have the latest version installed.

4. Pair the Pen with Your Laptop

Ensure the pen is properly paired with your laptop:

  1. Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
  2. Ensure Bluetooth is turned on.
  3. Turn on the pen and press the pairing button if it has one.
  4. Click Add Bluetooth or another device and select Bluetooth. Choose the pen from the list to pair it.

5. Calibrate the Pen

Calibrate the pen to improve accuracy:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Tablet PC Settings.
  2. Select Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate your pen.

6. Test the Pen

Test the pen functionality in different applications to ensure it’s working:

  • Open Microsoft OneNote, Paint, or any drawing app to check if the pen is responsive.
  • Try using the pen on different parts of the screen to see if there’s any area where it’s not working.

7. Troubleshoot Pen Issues

If the pen is still not working, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Restart your laptop.
  2. Ensure the pen is charged.
  3. Check the pen’s tip for any damage or debris.
  4. Test the pen on another compatible device if possible, to rule out a hardware issue with the pen itself.
