Dear guys, please help!
Problem description:
I have an HP Laptop 15-db0001ur and it does not run on it: HP Recovery Manager, Synaptics Touchpad application. They just stopped working over time - a common occurrence. They need to be reinstalled, but here in the city of Volgograd, The Government of our country has sharply restricted Internet access - you can only access sites from the so-called White List. Sites hp.com, The Microsoft Store are not included in it. But on the website hp.com I could barely log in, but I can't log in to the Microsoft Store. Due to the Internet blocking, it is also impossible to update Windows and drivers, including through the HP Support Assistant. On the download drivers page for my laptop here: https://support.hp.com/kz-ru/drivers/hp-15-db0000-laptop-pc/model/22863560 there is no HP Recovery Manager program available for download. I used to install the Synaptics Touchpad control application only from the Microsoft Store (I did not find any other places to install it). I don't want to reinstall the operating system from recovery disks because of these two programs.
Question:
Where else can I install HP Recovery Manager, Synaptics Touchpad application?
Thank you for listening.

Hi @Igor_Smetanin

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here are the steps you can follow to address the issue with HP Recovery Manager and the Synaptics Touchpad application on your HP Laptop 15‑db0001ur:

HP Recovery Manager

  • This utility is not available for download separately from the driver page of your model.
  • It is included only with the original factory image of Windows that shipped with the notebook.
  • If it has stopped working, the only way to restore it is by performing a system recovery using the recovery partition or recovery media created earlier.
  • If recovery media was created when the notebook was new, you can use it to reinstall the software.
  • If recovery media is not available, the application cannot be reinstalled independently.

Synaptics Touchpad Control Application

  • The control panel for Synaptics drivers is integrated with the driver package.
  • On systems where the application was provided through the Microsoft Store, it cannot be reinstalled without access to the Store.
  • As an alternative, you can install the Synaptics driver package directly:
    1. Open Device Manager.
    2. Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
    3. Right‑click the Synaptics device and choose Update driver.
    4. Select Browse my computer for drivers.
    5. Point to the folder where the Synaptics driver installer was previously saved, or use the driver package available on the HP support page for your notebook model.
  • After installation, the Synaptics settings should appear in Mouse settings within Windows.

Note

  • Without access to the Microsoft Store, the standalone Synaptics app cannot be downloaded. Only the driver package can be used.
  • HP Recovery Manager cannot be obtained separately; it is tied to the factory recovery environment.
  • If both applications are essential, the only supported method is to restore the notebook using recovery media or the recovery partition.
