Omen 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi i keep getting the message on my omen 15 laptop

"The Smart AC Adapter connected will power your computer, but potentially at a reduced performance level. Your computer is designed to vary performance as needed when a smaller capacity Smart AC Adapter is connected.  Resource intensive tasks may cause your system not to perform at its highest level with a smaller capacity Smart AC Adapter.  Please connect a higher capacity Smart AC Adapter for full performance."

and this is the original 200w smart ac adapter, I've had this laptop for about 7 months and I have not noticed any damage to the ac adapter so i was wondering what could be the possible problem and what i could do to solve this solution

@ayden1

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • 1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
  • 2. Expand batteries.
  • 3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
  • 4. Shut down the computer.
  • 5. Disconnect the charger.
  • 6. Remove the battery.
  • 7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
  • 8. Insert the battery only.
  • 9. Attempt to turn the battery on.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
